We caught up with her to ask about upcoming events.
RESORTER: How are plans for the new season coming along?
SUSAN: Most of the events and activities are already booked. I have a preliminary calendar and we’ll include a copy so everyone can see all that’s coming up.

RESORTER: Are there any events you want to highlight for residents?
SUSAN: There’s so much to look forward to, but I’m very excited about the new Thursday Happy Hours. I wanted to come up with something that wouldn’t cost too much to attend and would bring people together for entertainment. The new Thursday Happy Hours won’t be every week, but we’ll have them the weeks we don’t have a show.
They’ll be poolside or in the social hall, depending on weather. We’ll have entertainment and snacks, but it’ll be BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage) and cost just $4.
RESORTER: Looking at the list of events, I see some familiar names for the entertainment and bands, but also some new ones.
SUSAN: My hobby, when I’m not working, is to go out and listen to local bands. Sometimes I hear one and think, “This would be perfect for The Resort.” I wish I could hire them all, but I worked at lining up the highest quality, most professional entertainment.
RESORTER: And it looks like there are a lot of dances on the list.
SUSAN: Yes, most Fridays. And if I may, let me point you to two Do Not Miss events coming this season. There’s the car show, which will be even bigger than last year. And there’s the annual KTRR Radio Show — it’ll be a variety show and it will be a lot of fun to see what our talented residents have to offer. I might even perform myself… who knows?

MEET A NEW COUPLE AT THE RESORT
While most residents are gone for the summer, we have a new couple that have made themselves at home at The Resort. A pair of owls have moved in. Sue got a photo of one (with a brave sparrow nearby).
